**Position Title:** EV Master Certified Technician

**Position Summary:**
Gi-Techs is seeking a skilled and experienced **EV Master Certified Technician** to lead and perform electric vehicle charger installations and oversee advanced field operations. This role involves hands-on work, permit handling, compliance inspections, and mentorship of junior technicians. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in EV technology, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Install and commission Level 2 and Level 3 EV charging systems (residential and commercial)
- Lead and supervise installation crews on site
- Pull electrical permits and coordinate with local inspection authorities
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, local electrical codes, and manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and connectivity issues related to EV systems
- Provide technical support, mentoring, and training to junior technicians
- Maintain accurate documentation for all jobs (permits, photos, inspection results, etc.)
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely, high-quality job completion
- Serve as the on-site subject matter expert for clients and stakeholders

**Required Qualifications:**

- **Certified Master Electrician** (licensed in the state of operation)
- **EV Installation Certification** (Tesla, Ford, Rivian, Qmerit, or equivalent)
- Minimum **5+ years of electrical experience**, with at least 2 years focused on EV systems
- Strong understanding of local permitting processes and code compliance
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to read blueprints, technical schematics, and electrical diagrams
- Comfortable with ladders, lifts, and outdoor work environments
- Strong communication and leadership skills

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Qmerit Certified Installer
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Battery Energy Storage (Powerwall/Backup Systems) experience
- Experience with smart energy systems and load management software

Requirements

🔌 Certified Master Electrician – Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Master Electrician License in the state of operation (multi-state licensing preferred)

  • Minimum of 5 years of field experience in residential and commercial electrical work

  • Proven experience with EV charger installation (Level 2 and Level 3, Tesla, Rivian, Ford, etc.)

  • Ability to pull electrical permits and ensure compliance with all local, state, and NEC codes

  • Clean driving record and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred Certifications:

  • Qmerit Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

  • Tesla/EV manufacturer installation training completion preferred

  • OSHA 30 Certification

  • NFPA 70E Certification

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and inspect all EV charger installations for code compliance and safety

  • Pull permits and manage inspection scheduling with local authorities

  • Lead and mentor field technicians and electrical apprentices

  • Ensure all job sites meet code, safety standards, and quality benchmarks

  • Collaborate with project managers to schedule jobs and allocate resources

  • Stay current with updates in EV technology, NEC codes, and green energy trends
